I took my time getting to the new Lord of the Rings series on Prime and I almost binge-watched the whole first season in one sitting. Not to say it's as good as the LOTR Trilogy (nothing is) but I took it for what it is: The Shannara Chronicles meets Game of Thrones. In other words, a 7 out of 10 that has me hooked. I'm also glad it's different from the books (have not yet read) as one medium will not spoil the other. So if you can, like me, look at it with fresh eyes, beyond the politics and all, you'll discover both the hype and the hate are misleading; The Rings Of Power is a good fantasy show. And sometimes good is good enough.
