This is my selection of the best add-ons for Classic Era, Season of Discovery, and, most recently, Forever in World of Warcraft as a Paladin player. I try to minimize the impact of add-ons, and I hate those that are "bloated add-ons". That is to say, add-ons that do way more than you bargained for. I am a fan of add-ons that resolve just the one specific thing you want them to. So, this is my list of essential non-intrusive add-ons that improve my World of Warcraft interface in Classic.
WoW addons every Paladin should have, or at least try out for a while:
Arvere Threat Meter
ClassicAuraDurations
ClassicClassIconPortraits
Extended Character Stats
GearMenu - Forever
Leatrix Maps

Platynator (Nameplates)
Questie
Recipe Master
Taku Relative Speed
If you think that the Leatrix add-on comes with too many options and you want the one-addon-does-one-thing experience, then these next few addons have been known to do just that:
Guild In Tooltip
Gryphons Remover
Wide Quest Log Plus
